The crackling, sizzling, searing chicken wings; soft, tender lamb chops coated in heavenly BBQ sauce. These are my abiding memories of Wanstead's BBQ Express and a glimpse of what will greet you upon entering this pleasure-dome. I have often found myself in a Subway thinking, 'hey all this salad looks great, healthy even but somehow tastes weird.' But it is the BBQ Express salad bar that delivers on nutrition and flavour without missing a trick and without compare. Yes, truly it is a fantastic BBQ Express and I emphasise this as BBQ does not actually stand for barbecue but rather it stands for just BBQ.
Food is always on point for such type of eatery and we'll balance portions. They do get busy at certain times, especially when ordering online. I recommend anything chicken! And the chicken and rice combined dish is lush.
My regular local port of call for quality grilled peri peri chicken and chips. They also serve up good quality pizza and have probably the best tasting gourmet burger in town. Delivery service is also fast and efficient. Top marks.
We had booked a table for 4 but unfortunately when we got to the restaurant, they were unaware of our reservation. Luckily for us, the place was empty and they sat us down promptly at the next available table. There was no cloakroom, table service or candles to my disappointment however, I was stunned by the menu visuals with their keen use of flames. I was most impressed by their spice levels which ranged from mild, to graciously labelled 'Hell' flavour. I took a seat to have think about what I wanted but my buttock was irritated by the duct tape that was flailing off my seat holding it to together. I opted for the grilled fish, however the clerk was confused and muttered this was not on the menu. I nodded my head up to where to the grilled fish was clearly displayed on the menu with the firey background to which he then established communications in a language I was unfamiliar with to who I presume was the head chef. They then informed me this was no longer being served. With further disappointment, I chose the chicken strips and chips and headed back to my table. A few moments later, I was called by the clerk to collect my food and, god, wow! It was fantastic - it had succulent pieces of chicken with sharp grilled onions and peppers bursting with flavour. I was in awe. While I wouldn't recommend booking a table, popping in after you've had a long day is a great way to treat your stomach! Highly recommend.

The nicest people I’ve ever met. Came to get something to break my fast and they gave me all of this for free. Ordered a strip meal too and it was quite nice
The burgers here are always sooo good and soo fresh. Trust me you won't regret buying here. Go in and get it hot and fresh you won't be dissapointed.
